Mission Statement
The Richland County Sheriff's Office primary mission is controlling crime, enforcing the law, and keeper of
offenders. Beside these functions for which your Sheriff's Office is empowered by State law and trained, our
"mission" is to work with all citizens of our community to:
- preserve life,
- maintain human rights,
- protect property, and
- promote individual responsibility and community commitment.
Our foundation is "community service" with goals to enhance the quality of life of local residents, investigating
problems, as well as, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security in individuals and the communities
within our County.
The employees of the Richland County Sheriff's Office nurture "public trust" by holding themselves to the
highest standards of performance and ethics. All employees are committed to giving respect to all citizens of
Richland County and sensitivity to their problems and concerns.
